Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there I have a swollen purple and also puffy anus which is completely painless. I also have a small brown lump near my anus which has only recently appeared (not sure if they are related). I also occasionally have a mucus like discharge when I whipe after going to the toilet but this has been happening for a while before the other symptoms. Hope you can help!
Your symptoms are suggestive of Hemmarhoids. Confirmation of diagnosis require rectal examination.
Management of Hemmarhoids is by avoiding constipation mainly. Drink plenty of fluids and eat fiber rich food like fruit and vegetables to avoid constipation. Exercising regularly and over the counter products containing Psyllium can also help. Anti hemmarhoidal creams and ointments are also used. surgery is needed if symptoms worsens.
Please be advised to follow up with primary care physician for further management.
Hope I was able to answer your question Please address any more concerns Regards, Dr.Lekshmi
